What's New with Astra

WordPress 7.0 brought a refreshed admin design, and a few things in Astra Pro needed to catch up. This release updates the Mega Menu editor, the Theme Builder, and the Custom Layouts admin to look and behave correctly in the new admin UI. We also fixed a PHP warning that could appear when a WooCommerce product gallery image was deleted from the media library.

Let’s get into it.

🔧 Better than before

• Astra Pro is compatible with WordPress 7.0. Admin screens, the Mega Menu editor, Theme Builder buttons, and the Custom Layouts UI all look and behave correctly in the new WordPress admin design. Color accents follow your chosen admin color scheme instead of hardcoded values, and nothing looks out of place.

🐛 Squashed

• WooCommerce product gallery no longer throws a PHP warning when an image is deleted from the media library. When a gallery attachment was removed, accessing an unresolved image source triggered a warning in PHP 8+. A blank slide could also appear in its place. Both are gone.

This one’s a focused release. We’ve added a quick-access support widget right inside the Astra dashboard, confirmed compatibility with WordPress 7.0, and squashed two bugs that were affecting multilingual sites and WooCommerce stores.

✨ What’s new

• Get help without leaving your dashboard. A new AI support widget is now available directly inside the Astra admin dashboard. Look for the floating Astra icon — click it to get answers without switching tabs or digging through docs.

🔧 Better than before

• Astra is fully compatible with WordPress 7.0. Update your WordPress core with confidence — everything works as expected.
• Header Builder schema output is now filter-controlled. Developers can use the astra_schema_enabled and astra_site_navigation_schema_enabled filters to toggle schema markup on Header Builder menus — useful for sites with custom structured data requirements.

🐛 Squashed

• WPML translations no longer fall back to the admin language on the frontend. After the 4.13.1 update, [wpml-string] shortcodes were ignoring the visitor’s language and showing the default instead. Fixed.
• WooCommerce star ratings show all 5 stars again. The Legacy WooCommerce sidebar widget was clipping the rating display at 4 stars. Squashed.

4.13.2 brings two handy improvements to the Page Headers module and Mega Menu, plus a round of fixes covering Quick View, Infinite Scroll, sticky header logos, mobile menu sync, and more.

Let’s get into it.

🔧 Better than before

• Set a separate mobile menu in Page Headers. The Site Header tab now includes a “Select Mobile Menu” option, so you can assign an independent menu to the Off-Canvas (mobile) menu without it following the primary menu selection.
• Mega Menu design controls are now easier to discover. If you open the Design tab without enabling the related toggle in General, you’ll now see a clear prompt pointing you to it instead of facing a wall of greyed-out options.

🐛 Squashed

• Quick View now opens variable products with their default attributes pre-selected. Before this fix, variant dropdowns were showing blank, unlike the single product page. Now they match.
• Infinite Scroll was showing duplicate posts on the blog and archive pages. Posts were repeating as you scrolled. Gone.
• Sticky header logo size was inconsistent across pages. When a Transparent Header had a separate logo with a custom width set, the sticky logo size varied from page to page. Fixed.
• Mobile menu toggle was getting stuck in the wrong state on sticky headers. With slide or fade animations, the X icon could get stuck, the open/close state could invert, and interactions would visually desync between the original and sticky header. All sorted.
• Beaver Builder Menu module’s mobile submenu was closing immediately in the custom headers. Scripts were being enqueued twice, which caused the submenu to collapse the moment it opened. Fixed.
• PHP 8.2 deprecation warnings cleaned up, and database query safety improved in display condition rules.
• Nav Menu icon picker was showing blank icons after v4.13.0. The icon picker in Astra Menu Settings is back to working correctly.

This one covers a lot of ground. Two new features land in 4.13.2 — rem unit support for typography (a real win for accessibility) and WP-CLI commands for the Abilities API. Plus, we’ve fixed a Customizer white screen on WordPress 6.8+, a sticky header bug, and a handful of other rough edges.

✨ What’s new

Typography that respects your users’ font size preferences
Line-height and letter-spacing now support rem units in the Customizer Typography controls.

What that means for you:

• Users who’ve set a larger default font size in their browser will see your spacing scale with it automatically, not stay stuck at a fixed size px value.
• Better out-of-the-box accessibility without extra work on your end.
• Consistent spacing across all viewport sizes for rem-based designs.

Manage Abilities from the command line
New WP-CLI commands let you list, enable, disable, and inspect individual Abilities directly from your terminal. No more clicking through the dashboard to check what’s active.

🔧 Better than before

• The Off-Canvas close icon holds its size. It shrank when a scrollbar appeared or when pop-up padding was applied. Now it stays put.

🐛 Squashed

• Sticky header was leaving the burger icon in the wrong state. The main header’s toggle icon was still showing the close (X) state. Fixed.
• Multi-selector control was clipping long post type labels and showing raw HTML entities. Labels now wrap correctly and render as plain text.
• Customizer white screen on WordPress 6.8+. An unused wp-block-editor script dependency in the customizer controls bundle was causing it. Removed.
• List and quote blocks were bleeding padding in the Separate Container layout. The Block Editor now renders them with the correct spacing.
• Duplicate H1 tags when using the astra_show_site_title_h1_tag filter with Header Builder active. One H1. As it should be.

This one is a focused patch, with bugs that have been quietly causing grief for mobile visitors, multilingual sites, WooCommerce stores, and Elementor users. No new features, just things working the way they should.

Let’s get into it.

What’s Fixed?

• Mobile header flashed on load when using Logo + Title + Tagline together. On mobile, the inline header layout briefly showed a desktop version before snapping into place. The flicker is gone.
• Hovering a nested submenu item incorrectly highlighted its parent. A CSS hover rule was too broad and lit up ancestor menu items while you were hovering a grandchild.
• Mini-cart didn’t update after adding products from block-based WooCommerce grids. If you used “Hand-picked Products” or “Products by Category” blocks, adding to the cart left the cart count stale. It now updates correctly.
• Customizer text strings reverted to the admin language on the frontend with WPML. Default strings like “Read More”, “Related Posts”, and button labels switched to the admin’s language instead of the visitor’s.
• Custom menu toggle colors set in the Customizer weren’t applying to Elementor pages. An overly aggressive CSS rule was overriding your own settings. Removed, and your Customizer colors are back in charge.
