From Custom Layouts to Full Site Builder
Astra has always been known for allowing you to easily modify many parts of your website.
The Custom Layouts Pro module was one of the tools to help you accomplish this.
From Astra 4.5 onwards this module will be rebranded as Site Builder.
This better reflects its true power and paves the way for more tools and features to be included in future updates.
With the new Site Builder it will be easier than ever to create, design and manage custom website elements.

- 404 page
- Search pages
- Inside post/page content blocks
- Custom templates for
- Single
- Archive
The cool thing about these custom elements is that you can set different display, device and user role visibility rules.
You can even set start and end times for your custom layouts visibility, thus making your website truly dynamic and versatile.
From the WordPress Admin Panel > Astra > Site Builder you’ll find now a sidebar where you can quickly access all the different website parts that you can design.
You can easily preview all the content you already have or add new ones using the blue + Create New button.
You can jump straight into the editor to modify those parts.
This Is Just the Beginning
All other elements like the editor remain untouched for the time being. With Astra 4.5, we are laying the foundation for an exciting new site-building experience.
So stay tuned because you will see many more changes around this feature.
The new Astra Site Builder is included in the Pro Addon and it’s a free update for all Astra Pro users.

Does this mean Astra is building it’s own site editor, and won’t be supporting WP’s Full Site Editor (FSE)?

We’re excited to share our new Site Builder option, which allows you to easily create various pages. This feature supports Classic Themes such as Astra. For a comprehensive understanding, you can watch the video provided in this article: https://wpastra.com/updates/astra-4-5/.
It’s important to note that WordPress’s Site Editor is designed on FSE themes like Twenty-Twenty Three or Twenty Twenty Four themes. I hope this clarifies things for you.
