Why not use someone else’s hard work and creativity as inspiration this sales season!
10 Awesome Black Friday Website Examples
As we share these 10 brand website examples, bear in mind you don’t have to be a web developer or design genuine to offer your customers the same experience.
You could deliver the same experience using our readymade templates.
Simply select a template and follow the short installation wizard.
You could give your store a brand new Black Friday look in under 2 minutes with very little effort!
Black Friday is a full store template complete with countdown timer, product showcase blocks and a signature BFCM colorway.
Black Friday Sale is a BFCM landing page that delivers the visual impact customers are sure to engage with.
Both templates can be installed in seconds and fully customized to suit your brand using built-in tools.
Now to those examples.
1. Amazon
You can’t talk about online shopping without talking about Amazon.
Amazon is not known for drastically changing its appearance, and for good reason.
It’s a design we all know and like, if not love. It’s also a design that packs the maximum number of offers onto one page.
That’s not something Amazon would want to change!
A previous Black Friday landing page didn’t change the recipe much. It simply changed the color and added BFCM deals rather than their everyday offers.
Everything else was familiar and relatable, making the visitor feel right at home.
That’s one of the simplest approaches you can follow:
How To Do Something Similar
If you use Astra, it’s easy to add a BFCM banner to the top of the page like Amazon.
You could use the Header Builder or webhooks to create something similar.
Here’s a video tutorial that shows you how to use webhooks step by step:
2. FluentCRM
FluentCRM is another example of how to promote deals during Black Friday without changing your main design.
Rather than change the page or add a banner, the company used a simple but effective popup.
Using popups means visitors will see your BFCM offers wherever they are and whatever page they land on.
Not everyone likes popups and some browsers block them, but this is a very effective way to promote Black Friday without changing your website.
How To Do Something Similar
Spectra Pro comes with a powerful, yet easy-to-use popup builder.
You can set different triggers and display rules so you’re in absolute control of where the popup appears.
The Spectra popup builder makes it easy to create something amazing with very little effort!
3. Hostinger
Hostinger went all in on Black Friday and completely changed its homepage.
This puts you firmly in the Black Friday mood!
Compare it to what the homepage looks like the rest of the year and you can see just how complete the changes were.
Besides the colors, the display of sale prices and the different hero image, there’s another important key factor here, the countdown.
Countdown’s are classic marketing techniques to create FOMO.
If a visitor sees they are running out of time, they are much more likely to buy.
It’s a powerful sales technique used everywhere and you should too if it fits your store.
How To Do Something Similar
Astra has a dedicated Black Friday Starter Template you can swap out for sales season.
It’s very straightforward to build a landing page to temporarily replace your homepage.
You could even create a ‘spare’ full site template specifically for BFCM using staging.
Switching them is simple and you can switch right back once the sale is over.
Spectra Pro includes a countdown builder to help create that FOMO.
It works in much the same way as the popup builder and makes it easy to create any type of countdown you like.
You can also add custom actions when it gets to zero and include evergreen countdowns that never run out.
You have full control over the countdown block so it’s entirely up to you how you use it!
4. Nike
Nike likes to keep things simple in their store on Black Friday. Or at least they did in previous years.
There was more made of the sale elsewhere, but the store pages were purposely kept minimal.
Aside from the simple banner at the top, there was very little that’s different from any other day.
Besides the top banner, Nike added a new filter so you could quickly find the Black Friday deals.
This is quite clever.
Rather than segregating Black Friday deals from the rest of the store, Nike used a filter where you could browse both sale and non-sale items.
Even if there’s nothing you wanted in the sale, it doesn’t mean you’ll leave empty handed!
How To Do Something Similar
Astra Pro integrates seamlessly with WooCommerce so you can create new product pages with a different design specifically for sales.
You could add a banner like Nike or use other methods depending on your brand.
If you want to show all products and not only those with a discount, you can add attention-grabbing sale bubbles too.
You can customize the shape, color and text, so it’s very easy to adapt them to your liking!
5. DJI
DJI manually gathered all their Black Friday deals onto a specific landing page.
It’s one more way you can leverage BFCM without changing your entire website.
If you want to create the same level of drama, a black background is the way to go.
Besides the main hero image, DJI added a secondary navigation menu so you could quickly navigate between sections.
How To Do Something Similar
Astra makes it easy to customize colors on any part of your website.
It takes seconds to add the signature BFCM black color and change it back once the sale is done.
Thanks to Astra’s sticky header, you can easily create menus that stay visible while visitors scroll.
If you want to show all products or offers in your menu, try the Mega Menu feature.
You can display multiple products in a very accessible way. You can even add highlights to drive attention to your higher margin or sale products.
By the way, creating on-page anchor links to scroll to certain parts of the page with a click is easier than you might think!
6. pCloud
Previously, pCloud ran a Black Friday deal within a particular landing page to get you in the mood for the sale.
This design is the complete opposite of the light colors they normally use so it makes quite the impact.
They drive traffic to the landing page using a popup, something you’ve already seen.
How To Do Something Similar
You can create unique landing pages for sales using Spectra Pro.
You can then use it to create a popup to help drive visitors towards them.
Spectra Pro comes with dozens of block patterns to quickly design an outstanding landing page.
Combine that with Astra Starter Templates and you’ll have a powerful solution to create the landing page that makes the most of BFCM.
7. BeTheme
The guys over at BeTheme decided less is more last Black Friday.
They kept their standard homepage design but added a sicker-like layer over the brand name and showed the discount applied on the buy button.
It’s a simple approach that still communicates the message loud and clear.
If your brand or offer is strong enough to handle minimal marketing like this, it’s definitely worth considering!
How To Do Something Similar
You could do something similar by making a copy of your main homepage and adding your own layers to it.
Create a sticker, button or something else and add it to the homepage and save it as something unique.
When sales season arrives, switch out your main homepage for this one and switch back once the sale is done.
8. Elegant Themes
Continuing on familiar ground, our friends over at Elegant Themes had a unique pricing page as part of a previous Black Friday campaign.
The design reflected the standard branding but added a lot of BFCM interest.
From the banner announcing the sale to the countdown, social proof and sales bubbles, many tricks other brands had used were on display.
How To Do Something Similar
We won’t bore you by repeating the steps again as you already know how to create a custom landing page and include a countdown timer.
This time, just create a custom pricing page for BFCM, swap it out for the sale and swap it back once done.
We would also recommend using similar social proof and sales bubbles as they both help conversion!
9. IconicWP
You would expect a company that sells sales-boosting WooCommerce to have a good setup on their own site.
Last Black Friday, IconicWP used a dedicated landing page covered with BFCM mentions, high contrast colors and lots and lots of engagement.
We don’t know exactly how it worked out for them but we imagine it converted plenty of visitors!
As with other brands in this list of Black Friday examples, the design is the opposite of the usual white and calm colors of the standard site.
How To Do Something Similar
You could easily do something similar using the Astra Black Friday template.
The template is free with the Astra Essential Toolkit or Business Toolkit and delivers a similar look and feel.
You can customize it completely, as you can with all Astra templates!
The countdown timer comes with this template so there’s no need to add it separately. You can if you want to of course!
10. AIOSEO
Before we go, there’s one more sales technique we haven’t covered, the exit-intent popup.
AIOSEO’s example from a previous Black Friday is a great example.
It has everything we would look for in a popup.
It had bold colors, a simple strong message, clear discount offer, a countdown timer and a conversational call to action.
The automatic application of the discount at checkout is a small but useful touch as it means one less thing for the buyer to do.
How To Do Something Similar
The Spectra popup builder can easily create exit-intent popups like this.
Simply come up with a design that reflects the rest of your BFCM branding and use all the tricks and techniques we have covered in this post.
Once up and running, configure it to pop up when a visitor is about to leave and you have one more chance to make the sale!
