Import Your Exported Template Using Starter Templates

Easily bring your exported Astra designs to life on a new website using the Starter Templates plugin. Once you have your Child Theme Package ZIP file, importing it is quick and seamless.

Before You Start

Make sure you have the following installed on the website where you want to import the template:

• The Child Theme Package ZIP exported from the Astra Template Exporter
• Starter Templates plugin (free from WordPress.org)

Step 1: Navigate to Starter Templates Onboarding

1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
2. Install and activate both the downloaded child theme and the Starter Templates plugin.
3. Navigate to Appearance > Starter Templates.
4. Choose how you want to build your site from the selection screen:

• BSF Agency Templates – Use your exported templates across sites.
• AI Website Builder – Build from scratch with AI assistance.
• Classic Starter Templates – Use pre-made templates from the library.
  

Select BSF Agency Templates to access your exported designs, and click Show Template

Step 2: Import Design Template

Once the template is displayed:

1. Click on the Template
2. Follow the normal Starter Template import process flow

Step 3: Finalize Your Site

1. After import, check your pages and menus to confirm everything is set up as expected.
2. Optionally, make any minor adjustments to customizer settings or page layouts.
3. Your new site is now ready to go, with the same design as your exported design template.
