How to Show or Hide the AI Assistant Icon in Astra Dashboard Settings
Astra v4.13.4 lets you show or hide the AI Assistant icon directly from your WordPress Dashboard Settings — no code or file edits required. This gives you full control over your admin interface, whether you’re tidying up your own workspace or handing off a site to a client.
What Is the AI Assistant Icon?
Introduced in Astra v4.13.3, the AI Assistant is a floating icon that appears in your WordPress admin dashboard. Clicking it opens an inline support widget where you can search documentation and get answers without leaving the current screen.
Starting with v4.13.4, you can choose whether this icon appears at all — toggling it on or off from a single settings panel.
Requirements
Astra theme v4.13.4 or later. You can check your installed version under Appearance > Themes or from the Astra dashboard.
How to Toggle the AI Assistant Icon On or Off
- Log in to your WordPress admin panel.
- In the left sidebar, navigate to Astra > Dashboard.
- Open the Settings tab.
- Find the AI Assistant option.
- Use the toggle to enable or disable the icon.
The change takes effect immediately — no page reload or cache clearing needed.
When Should You Hide the AI Assistant Icon?

When delivering a completed site to a client, hiding the AI Assistant keeps the dashboard clean and focused on tools they actually use. It avoids questions about features that aren’t part of their workflow.
